ABSTRACT
Diagnosis of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and other in utero drug exposures constitutes a major challenge for health professionals. Without appropriate diagnosis and timely management, prevention cannot take place. Current research has shown that delayed diagnosis is associated with a worsened prognosis.
Issues regarding the diagnosis and management of FASD and related toxic fetal exposure were the focus of the inaugural Ivey Symposium at the Shuttleworth Auditorium in St. Joseph's Hospital in London Ontario on June 6, 2006.
All the presentations from the Ivey Symposium are now available through the Ivey Chair in Molecular Toxicology website under "The Inaugural Ivey Symposium".
