Question:
Our NVP program and pharmacy department noticed a possible error in the treatment algorithim. In the second box down, it states promethazine (Phenergan) 5 to 10 mg q6-8h po or pr - Phenergan is not supplied in this dosage, should this be Stemetil? The dosage is that for Stemetil not for Phenergan. Can you please clarify this.
Answer:
While it is true that phenergan is available only in injectable form in Canada, we also counsel people from the US where it is available in tablet form in different doses.
