Question:
I AM 20 YR OLD FEMALE 7 WEEKS PREGNANT,AND HAVE BEEN NAUSE BEGINING IN THE 5 WEEK OR SO, I CANT HOLD DOWN MUCH OF NOTHING, EVEN WATER I VOMIT. I AM CURRENTLY DEPLOYED IN IRAQ, EXPECTED TO LEAVE HERE SHORTLY BUT IN THE MEANTIME, IS THERE ANY TYPE OF FOOD OR DRUG I CAN TAKE TO SOOTH THE NAUSEA? IT IS REALLY TOO MUCH FOR ME
Answer:
Our first recommendation with NVP is to try and keep something in your stomach day or night by eating a bite of any food every hour. You should also drink a sip of water at those times. To learn more about treatment options, print the NVP treatment algorithm that is posted on this website in the Updates section and discuss this algorithm with your physician. Other questions and answers in this NVP Forum also discuss the safe treatment (Diclectin) used in Canada and strategies for those who live outside of Canada where Diclectin is not available.
