Question:
Is Unisom (doxylamine succinate) safe for a breastfeeding, pregnant mother who suffers from morning sickness, and what is the Lactation risk category for the drug?
Answer:
Because such a minimal amount of doxylamine (unisom) gets into the milk, there is no safety concern, even at the therapeutic dose of 40 mg per day, as used by women in Canada.
