NVP Counsellor
Date: 2009-01-19

Hi, iam 23 weeks and i am still taking diclectin. I use to take 4 per day. On my own i have to take 2 just before bed time. Since last friday ( jan 09/09) i stop taking it completly. I am still feeling ver nausea. So since last night (jan 12/09) i am back on it. How long can you take this medication? I their any risk involved for the baby? thnak you kindly for your reply

a small number of women suffer from NVP throughout pregnancy and need to take Diclectin to the end. You can try going off it gradually again and if you are still having symptoms,it is safe to continue on it as directed by your doctor, for however long you need it as it will not have adverse effects on your baby.
