Our Clinicians and Researchers

Joanne Rovet, PhD, C.Psych

Professor, Paediatrics and Psychology, University of Toronto

Dr. Rovet is a pediatric neuropsychologist in the Psychology Department and senior scientist in the Research Institute of the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Her research program is dedicated to the study of infant and childhood neurobehavioral development following intrauterine hormone abnormalities or different drug exposures. She is particularly interested in the role of thyroid hormone on attentional processing in infants and children and in describing the behavioral phenotype of fetal alcohol and cocaine exposure. She is the author or co-author of numerous scientific articles, editor of several special journal issues, and editor and co-editor of two books. She is a member of numerous professional societies including elected membership in the Lawson Wilkins Pediatric Endocrine Society and the American Thyroid Association.
